„Since we started the campaign, 6882 inspections have been carried out. 78 penalty orders have already been issued for the amount of 215 thousand euros,“ he said.
These are fines for unjustified price increases.
„Mass inspections are in grocery stores, but where unjustified price increases are most often found are services. Yesterday I was told about such a case in Varna - a dentist's office - from 800 leva a service becomes 800 euros. The most violations are at the points for annual technical inspections of cars - there were again striking cases there and we will take more serious action there. There were cases of a 600% increase in the countryside, not in Sofia“, Markov further explained.
According to him, the NSI data on the increase in service prices coincide with those of the NRA, which speaks of “work in the right direction“.
The inspections will continue until August 8 this year. And in the coming holidays, the focus will be on flowers and flower shops.
“Where we notice an increase in prices as a sector, that is where we will focus“, explained the NRA executive director.
