The father who reported that his 15-year-old son is with Ivaylo Kalushev – Yani Makulev was a guest in the special edition of “Darik's Week“, dedicated to the case of the “Petrohan“ triple murder.
“Today I am even calmer than yesterday. Today I am much calmer. Yesterday after my first interview – my phone went red. Public interest is great. At this stage I have no contact with Ivo Kalushev or my son. I have no indications in terms of facts. I only have my inner feeling as a father, parent and athlete. This is my inner feeling for me and my entire family“, said Yani Makulev.
“I have known Ivaylo Kalushev for 35 years. Honestly, I don't remember how we met, but it was in the caves. We saw Kalushev several times a year. I don't want to comment on the air about how and why we sent my son with Kalushev. This is a family decision that I wouldn't like to comment on“, he also said.
„I know Ivo Kalushev and I knew the deceased who were my friends, I know what moral standards these people had. Our son will be educated in many other disciplines that are not taught in normal schools under Ivaylo Kalushev. There he receives knowledge about nature and spiritual practices, said Yani Makulev.
„In the situation he was in, there was no way we could cope in terms of time and finances. I could and have given my child enough. I have a daughter and an older son. Many people know how I raised my children and know what it's about. In this particular case, I have decided that this is the right thing for him. I am not disappointed in my child, on the contrary - I am very proud and pleased", commented Yani Makulev.
„All that is being circulated about sects, drugs and pedophiles are baseless allegations. They are currently trying to discredit Ivo and this organization for some reasons that I do not know. My personal impressions are such that I guarantee that none of this is true. These people cannot even think of such a type of behavioral model. The authorities can circulate anything. I want to say what I think about the matter as a first-person, singular person who really knows them. I have never seen these people angry or swearing. Not once. In any situation. These are people with a high moral compass. Ivo in particular is a person whom I would find difficult to put into words. He is extremely intelligent, consistent, precise – a person who gives himself away. I have only seen good things from him“, he said.
“I have been to the “Petrokhan“ hut many times. The last time was at the end of November. Access to the “Petrokhan“ hut was not very restricted. There were electric shepherds because they were looking after bees in the area. I doubt that the mayor of the village of Gintsi was at the hut. He had no business being there, since there were investigators there. Does the mayor of the village of Gintsi say what weapons he saw – there is no information. There were sports bows, crossbows and airsoft copies of air rifles. The fact that they patrolled with air rifles is groundless. Regarding the fact that they found automatic weapons – Do you think someone will throw Kalashnikovs on the floor and wait for the police to arrest him, even though they had checks from time to time based on signals? Sooner or later it will be clear whether the wanted persons were there. Don't you suppose that the one who committed the act threw a few weapons to cover his tracks?“, said Yani Makulev.
„When it's all over, I will find the people who accuse my son of murder and I will file a case against everyone. The police asked me if I thought Ivo had screwed up and shot them. No, I don't think so!“, Makulev is categorical.
„The interrogation at the police was quite long. Three people questioned me separately on Tuesday. I prefer not to comment on the interrogation, these are things that should remain with the Ministry of Interior. I do not know at what stage they are in the investigation. When the Ministry of Interior comes out with an official position and data on the case, then perhaps we will have data on the case“, commented Yani Makulev.
„Ivaylo Kalushev has known my children since they were babies, my daughter is turning 25 this year and he has known her since she was a baby. I think Buddhism is important to Kalushev. These things were very important to him. I have also been interested in Buddhism. Is my son a Buddhist - what does it change in the situation? In my opinion, Buddhism should not be involved in the topic, this is another aspect of things. Religion should not be involved“, said Makulev.
„I doubt that anything happened. Our feeling is that everyone is alive and well. I suppose they are waiting for public opinions to balance. I am not bothered by public opinion. I have the right to my opinion and public opinion does not interest me at all. I have made a decision and I stand by my words“, said Makulev.
„In a situation, does it matter whether you panic or remain calm? It is better to remain calm in order to make the right decisions, because panic changes the forms of perception“, commented the father of the 15-year-old child, who is with Ivaylo Kalushev.
„I read Ivaylo Kalushev's SMS, there may be a hidden message inside - I prefer not to read this message. I absolutely exclude the thesis of a suicide note“, Yani Makulev is categorical.
„I last had contact with my son on January 29. I found out about what happened on Monday around 4:30-5 p.m. on the news. I tried to contact my son immediately. No one answered the phones, they were switched off. From a factual point of view - I don't know anything - I have no indication of location and condition. I don't believe that the state will approach the case conscientiously, you know very well why. The probability that this will be covered up is high, that's why they want to make Ivo and the children guilty, but it won't work," Yani Makulev told Bozhidar Rusev.
