The tragic case in "Petrohan", where three rangers were found dead and a week later the bodies of Ivaylo Kalushev, a young man and a 15-year-old child were found, stirred up the spirits in the country and caused tremors at the political level as well.
"Categorically, the political use is present. The case is extremely sinister, unclear, poorly communicated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office. This one week of seeming inaction, chaos in which this camper, who in a strange way moved around Okolchitsa, is being searched for, has led only to distrust. I see mainly conspiracy theories around me. Belief that the recording was tampered with. Why, if they commit suicide, aren't they all together?" This is how journalist Ruzha Raicheva commented on the topic of the mysterious murder to bTV.
"This case introduces death as one of the topics in the election campaign. What President Radev said is interesting - that we must take back our country. The big challenge before him is to take back the country for everyone or for himself? Because "Ataka" 20 years ago and they had a poster "Let's take back our country". Nothing is the first time in politics. It is important for Radev to show that he wants to break the system," said Miroslav Sevlievski, former Minister of Energy.
According to political scientist Petar Cholakov, there is a political use for the "Petrohan" case - The serious problem is with the institutions that no one respects. We cannot trust the court and the prosecutor's office," he said.
"It will be a very muddy campaign, full of compromising evidence, slander. We can already see it now, because this murder is attributed to the PP-DB in some way. Their people financed the organization. But everything needs to be clarified," commented Ruzha Raicheva.
On the question of whether the Minister of Interior should comment on the "Petrohan" case, Cholakov said that the minister is a political figure. "If there was trust in the institutions, it would be good for the Minister of Interior to come out and reassure people.".
For Miroslav Sevlievski, this is not necessary.
"The big question is why these things are happening. I hope the election campaign will make sure that these things do not happen in the future. It is very important who the candidates the parties will nominate. We have a change in geopolitics. We need reformers in the EU. The question is whether we will send reformers or poshlushkovites", said Sevlievski.
On the topic of the upcoming elections, Raicheva believes that it is very difficult to nominate new faces. "We will mainly look at "old faces". There will be experts, of course. There is a need for people besides Radev to lead this formation, because it is very difficult to have only one person who is bright in this formation,", believes Raicheva.
"Around President Radev there are figures who are connected to the old times, to the old system. I am referring to figures like Vasil Vassilev, the businessman, Bobokovi. When you have such figures, where will the new names come from? What Radev should be wary of is people with unverified biographies," Cholakov said.
"If Andrey Gyurov is the acting prime minister, it sounds to me that PP-DB will be the third political force. If not, they will be the fourth political force," Sevlievski commented. The important thing is who the first three are. The intrigue will be who will be the third - Peevski or PP-DB.
