It's time to wake up.
Food security is part of national security.
Did you hear what the CPC said today after a sectoral analysis of food prices?: "Agricultural production is facing a catastrophe".
For at least two years I have been constantly saying that the issue of food and water is becoming paramount. In recent years, milk production has fallen by 25%, and imports have increased by 42%. The same is true of meat, fruits and vegetables. Absurd and unacceptable.
The leader of "Rebellious Bulgaria" warned about this on "Facebook" Cornelia Ninova.
We have fertile land and delicious Bulgarian varieties. We can eat clean, healthy, native food. Why are we ruining this wealth? What to do? We can't just observe and watch indifferently.
Here are some of the solutions to guarantee food security that we offer from Unrepentant Bulgaria:
1. Any construction of photovoltaics on fertile agricultural land is prohibited.
2. Irrigation systems are restored and cheap water is provided to farmers.
3. Subsidies are given per kilogram of produced produce, not for a fenced meadow with thistle.
4. A larger part of the subsidies are redistributed to fruits, vegetables, milk and meat.
5. The state creates easier conditions for the unification and cooperation of small farmers.
6. The state builds and provides for use farmers' markets in order to shorten the chain of resellers.
7. The state reduces regulations, bureaucracy and paperwork for the production of Bulgarian food.
8. The state ensures draconian control along the border with third countries so that goods with false documents do not enter at low prices and undercut ours.
Bulgarian land can feed our people. All we need is will, profiteers out and concrete actions.
