The Pleven - Byala road is temporarily closed to traffic due to an accident in the section after the village of Strahilovo, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Veliko Tarnovo announced.
The accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m. in a collision between a passenger car and a cargo van. Both drivers were injured.
The passenger cars are being redirected through the villages of Maslarevo and Obedinenie, while the freight cars are waiting at the scene.
The causes of the accident are being clarified. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
The road section is part of a route with a concentration of traffic accidents. In the past week alone, several serious accidents have been registered in the area, including fatalities.
