A question that remains unanswered in the “Petrohan“ case is where is Deyan Iliev? This is the man who has been among Ivaylo Kalushev's closest people for years and was the first to discover the bodies in the burning hut. According to information from NOVA sources, Iliev most likely left Bulgaria with his wife Lola, who is Mexican. He has been questioned several times and is currently not banned from leaving our country. His car was at his address in the village of Gintsi.
On Friday, the prosecutor's office sent the materials on the investigation to parliament. We were able to gain access to some of them from NOVA sources at the National Assembly.
In his testimony, Deyan Iliev, in addition to many shell casings found inside the hut, also testified that he saw men with ATVs in the village of Gintsi on February 1. “Somewhere around 3 p.m. I wrote a message to Ivaylo Ivanov that maybe these people would be driving ATVs in the mountains and Ivaylo immediately thanked me for the information”, the man who found Plamen, Decho and Ivaylo dead in “Petrohan” wrote in his testimony.
He says that again on February 1, shortly before 8 p.m., he received a message from his friend Ivaylo Kalushev: “Somewhere around 7:45-7:50 p.m. I received a message from Ivaylo Kalushev, which sounded worrying - something like a farewell letter. The message sounded like: “Goodbye, my friend! We are very tired and have no more strength” and “Go back to Mexico”. Because my phone is set up this way, all my received messages are automatically deleted after a while. That is why I cannot specify the exact text of the message”.
NOVA also has the testimony of Deyan Iliev's wife - Lola, who is originally from Mexico. She was with him when the man drove up to the hut on the day he discovered the bodies. “We were very scared. D. told me to lock myself in the car and not to open it to anyone, and if something happened - to press the horn to warn him. When D. returned, he was in a state of shock. He was shaking all over. He said that everything had burned down and that he would come back to check. When he returned the second time, D. was terrified, crying and shaking”, writes Lola.
The same day, Iliev was detained by the Ministry of Interior for 24 hours. “After giving his testimony, they detained D. for 24 hours. He was at the station the whole time. I was very worried”, the woman states in her testimony.
In the program “In Focus”, the mother of one of the murdered - Nikolay Zlatkov, announced that Deyan Iliev called her after discovering the bodies of the three in the ”Petrohan” chalet. ”I am extremely worried. That's why I gave my testimony myself. I asked them where Deyan was?”, claims Ralitsa Asenova.
