As soon as it takes office, the caretaker cabinet "Gyurov" will face serious public and political expectations, and there will be many dissatisfied people. This was stated by the chief expert on the "Security" program at the Center for the Study of Democracy Tihomir Bezlov on the air of "Crossroads" on Nova TV.
In his words, the only way to limit negative reactions is active and clear work from the very first days of government. “In order to have fewer dissatisfied people, activity is necessary from the very beginning“, Bezlov emphasized.
The expert also commented on the topic of the election process, noting that in previous years the institutions responsible for guaranteeing the fairness of the vote have often “looked in the opposite direction“. According to him, this is where one of the main tests for the caretaker government will be - whether it will demonstrate a real will for control and transparency.
Bezlov indicated that the cabinet could request the removal of the acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov. However, he raised the question of how much the Supreme Judicial Council would support such an initiative. In this context, the expert recalled that the current Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov has been a long-time critic of Sarafov and has repeatedly stated his position that he should be removed.
Regarding the investigation into the “Petrokhan“ case, Bezlov expressed the opinion that it is necessary to attract external experts. According to him, such a step would increase trust in the process and guarantee greater objectivity.
