Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov on the "Petrohan" case: We have a phenomenon - a double shot in a suicide - 1

Emil Dechev took office as acting Minister of Internal Affairs.

Judge Dechev is known as a principled person who knows his job, has his own opinion, has coverage for it. As a minister, he is a good candidate. We will see who his deputy ministers will be. This was said by the former deputy rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Interior, Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
The fairness of the elections depends on the Ministry of Interior
He is convinced that a change in the leadership of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior in the country is imminent.

"If he has trust and is a professional, he will control the crimes related to the election process, he will guarantee fairer elections. If he is not qualified, things will go their usual way," Ivanov commented.

A change, in his words, will occur if the acting minister manages to resist manipulation, because "he cannot play his cards right when the system tries to manipulate them."
The "Petrokhan" investigation
The most serious problem facing the Ministry of Interior is the lack of operational-search activities.

This is also evident in the report that was released by the Ministry of Interior on the criminal case.

"This report confirmed my doubts - this is a serious systemic problem in the Ministry of Interior from a professional point of view. The operational-search proceedings are designed in such a way that they cannot be swept under the carpet. There can be no signal from a source who wished to remain anonymous - we do not find his name in the archive, promise him anonymity, but he cannot be anonymous for the archive", Assoc. Prof. Ivanov was categorical.

He asked the Anti-Corruption Fund one question - has it submitted a request for access to public information about the actions of other NGOs.

Strangeness in the information from the investigation
"We have a phenomenon - a double shot in suicide. All serious investigators report it as a phenomenon, there are such cases, but they are a phenomenon. For me, this is very strange - most likely it means that a re-examination should be done. There is no willpower to understand that he failed and do it a second time in another place. Either the evidence that was given to the expert for examination was not properly collected, or we have a problem in the examination", Assoc. Prof. Ivanov is convinced.

Regarding the investigation of the three bodies near Okolchitsa, he stated that things are clearer there in terms of traces, ballistics, and the authorities have given more reasonable explanations there.
The key is in the motives
Assoc. Prof. Ivanov is categorical that the case will unravel when it comes to the motives for the six deaths.

"They are in the past, among the people who are in one way or another involved in this whole story that led to this crime. Without operational and investigative activity, there is no way to get there", said the former deputy rector of the Ministry of Interior Academy.
