At the request of the head of the Sofia prison, the court decides whether to release Evelin Banev-Brendo, convicted of drug trafficking, early, NOVA reported.
The reasons are: more than half of the sentence served and evidence of the convict's rehabilitation.
After the case became known, the head of the Sofia prison Borislav Chorbanski was temporarily removed from his post by a decision of the former Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev.
Banev surrendered himself two years ago after a 6-year search. He was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison in all cases against him, which were conducted in Bulgaria, Italy and Romania.
