The BG-Alert system was activated in the municipality of Galabovo due to the level of the Sokolotsa River. The warning is for the residents of the village of Obruchishte.
The heavy rainfall, lasting for hours, has significantly raised its waters. Fire brigade teams have been sent to the scene to monitor for a possible danger to the village.
The situation is complicated in the Haskovo region, where after the heavy rainfall, the river levels have risen and in several places they have overflowed their beds. A crisis headquarters was convened in Simeonovgrad after the Sazliyka River overflowed its bed and flooded yards in the village of Kalugerovo. In case of need for evacuation of people, premises have been prepared in the city hall. Yards in the Haskovo village of Dinevo have been flooded. 8 properties are flooded in the Dimitrovgrad neighborhood of “Iztok”. Firefighters are monitoring the rivers near the villages of Stransko and Dolno Belevo, as well as in the lowest parts of the city of Harmanli.
River levels in Kardzhali region have also risen sharply. For the seventh time since the beginning of the year, the Ardino municipality has declared a partial state of emergency. 6 villages are cut off due to a flooded bridge on the Arda River. Controlled water release from the “Studen Kladenets” dam has begun, one of the valves on the wall has been opened. There are 33 hours left until the Kardzhali dam overflows, the city's regional administration announced.
The institutions assure that the levels of the reservoirs are constantly monitored and there is no immediate danger.
