The renovation of the bus station in Blagoevgrad has begun. Every day, about 150 buses pass through it, both on domestic lines and international transport, BNT recalled.
"The renovation began on Monday. And this was necessary because the old pavement was sufficiently compromised. It dates from 1987, and partial repairs have been made. In the sense of patches on the asphalt pavement. However, craters were still opening next to it. And we had reproaches from carriers and travelers", listed the head of the bus station in Blagoevgrad Ventsislav Vaklev.
The entire old pavement is being removed and a new one is being laid. The area of the bus station on which the new pavement will be laid is about 6,000 square meters.
"The buses stop next to the bus station, having made an organization to implement the existing schedules. And so far we have no problem. I would like to apologize to the people for the inconvenience caused. But these people see what is being done. Something beautiful is being done, which will last for years. And we are very pleased with this thing. As for this area, at the beginning of the bus station we have a parking lot for personal cars, for customers who use the services of the bus station. Immediately after the parking lot there is a stand for taxis, which are in the area of the bus station. And at the very front for the sectors is the parking lot for buses that are waiting to leave," specified the head of the bus station in Blagoevgrad.
According to Ventsislav Vaklev, the new asphalt will probably be laid by the end of the week, after which markings should be put in place. It is also expected that three additional covered sectors will be built for arriving buses, as well as a covered entrance to the bus station building.
