What has been happening in the last week is a warm-up for what is expected to happen after the elections on April 19. This opinion was expressed in an interview with "Panorama" by journalist and political analyst Ruzha Raicheva.
According to her, what is happening is "purge and a change of the previous model" – the one associated with the rule of Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski. According to her, however, these processes are strongly partisan in nature by We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria, with the responsibility falling entirely on them.
Raicheva pointed out that the "There is such a people" party in a sense, it is the voice of the old government, attacking the new government with compromising material. As an example, she gave the removal of an entire portfolio from the structure of the Council of Ministers - that of the Deputy Prime Minister for Fair Elections. According to her, this is a sign that the caretaker government will be perceived as a "target" by the previous rulers.
Political analyst Georgi Harizanov, on the other hand, emphasized the contradiction between the requests and actions of Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov. According to him, the claim that the government was not revanchist was refuted by specific personnel and management decisions.
Ivan Bregov gave a different reading of the situation. According to him, something is currently happening in Bulgaria that the political parties themselves have not managed to achieve - return of expertise and normality in state governance.
„The figure of the Minister of Internal Affairs, which had disappeared from the landscape, has reappeared. The Ministry of Justice has reappeared“, he commented, emphasizing that these are signals for the restoration of institutional balance.
However, Bregov also issued a warning: if political representation fails to produce a stable and expert government, this means that there is a problem in the very political organization of our society.
He called on people to be „less on the side of propaganda and more on the side of traceability of actions“.
„I would like us to talk about policies and much less about politicians“, agreed with the thesis Georgi Harizanov, thus outlining the need to change the focus – from personal conflicts to real management decisions.
