Kostadin Kostadinov called on Bulgarians to defend Bulgaria: I am waiting for you in front of the Council of Ministers - 1

The Chairman of “Vazrazhdane“ Kostadin Kostadinov called on citizens to gather in front of the Council of Ministers in Sofia to defend the country and its security. He warned of a real danger of being drawn into a military conflict. In a video address he appealed:

“Dear compatriots, I will be at 1 p.m. in front of the Council of Ministers building. Come, so that we can defend Bulgaria together. To say clearly and categorically that we do not want foreign military personnel to command and deploy in our country. That we are a state, not a colony. That we are a people, not a carcass. If we want to be an independent state, we must be a free people“, said Kostadinov.

He motivated his appeal with the situation in the Middle East and the possibility of Bulgaria being drawn into a military conflict: “The Israelis, with the help of the American army, have attacked Iran. This is not new, but for the first time Bulgaria is at risk of being drawn into a very serious military conflict, because there are currently 13 American military aircraft and 500 American soldiers at the airport in Sofia. There are currently more foreign soldiers in the capital than Bulgarian soldiers“, he explained.

Kostadinov sharply criticized the government for the lack of information among the parliamentary forces and citizens: “The war has begun, and Bulgarian Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov is convening a Security Council at 1 p.m. I learned about this council from the media. Nobody notified us. Nobody invited us. It is as if one political force in parliament has absolutely no relation to what is happening. National security is a problem for every Bulgarian citizen“, he emphasized.

Kostadinov warned of the hypothetical but real risk for Sofia: “The airport in Sofia, if used by American planes for military actions against Iran, will become a legitimate military target of the Iranian state. Iranian missiles have a range that reaches not only Sofia, but also Serbia. The danger could become quite real.“

At the end of the address, Kostadinov linked the situation to the upcoming parliamentary elections: “Elections are coming on April 19. Think carefully whether you will give power back to people who are turning the country into a bridgehead for foreign armies, or whether you will vote for a worthy, real alternative - for “Revival“. For a free people! For an independent Bulgaria! Long live Bulgaria!“
