A shocking case at the Emergency Medical Center – Razlog - a 6-year-old child, injured during a ski school, was temporarily splinted with cardboard from a pizza box.
The child's uncle Rosen Yanchev told about the case on Facebook.
The child was then sent with a broken leg to travel from Razlog to Sofia without an ambulance and with a cardboard splint, Yanchev also wrote.
The outraged uncle asks many questions in connection with the case:
- "I ask — What do we pay health insurance for?
- What do we pay taxes for?
- What do we pay thousands of leva for every year if our children cannot receive adequate medical care?
- What conscience does the doctor have who sends a 6-year-old child with a broken leg to travel from Razlog to Sofia without an ambulance?
- Without a stable medical splint?
- Without adequate immobilization?".
According to him, such a trauma, if transported incorrectly, can lead to rupture of blood vessels, tendons, permanent damage, severe surgeries and lifelong complications.
He expresses gratitude to the doctors in the Pediatric Traumatology Department at the N. I. Pirogov University Hospital, thanks to whom measures were taken and the worst did not happen.
