A protest is being organized in front of the Courthouse with a demand to replace the acting prosecutor general. The demonstration was organized by the initiative “Justice for Everyone“ and the association “Students Against the Mafia“.
People gathered around the Courthouse. Tram traffic was also stopped, bTV reported.
The dissatisfied want Borislav Sarafov to be replaced as acting prosecutor general, since according to the legislation he cannot perform this function for more than six months.
Tomorrow the Supreme Judicial Council will consider the issue in the prosecutorial college. The session will begin at 11:00 and will be held in the presence of the acting Minister of Justice Andrey Yankulov. The question of the possibility of Sarafov remaining in office has already been raised before the Constitutional Court, and its decision is awaited.
