The Budget Committee in the parliament will discuss the extension of the Budget 2025 law at first reading. And currently the country is in a situation of the so-called "extension law", but it expires on March 31 this year.
The texts state that the new extension will be until the adoption of a new budget, and there are already requests for changes in the parameters.
The National Association of Municipalities requested 200 million euros in the proposed texts, and the issue of potential supplements due to the increase in fuel prices also remains unclear.
The acting Minister of Energy Traycho Traykov and the executive director of the "Kozloduy" NPP Ivan Andreev will be heard in the National Assembly about the costs of carrying out the planned repairs of the 5th and 6th units of the nuclear power plant and the suspicions of violations of the Public Procurement Act. The request for a hearing was submitted by the MP from "Vazrazhdane" Yordan Todorov.
Before the hearing, the MPs will discuss five draft amendments to the Criminal Code at first reading. Four of them were adopted by the Legal Committee. The one from GERB-SDF provides that the disposal of household, construction and industrial waste in large quantities in unauthorized places and creating a danger to people's health will be considered a crime.
"DPS-New Beginning" proposes increasing the penalties for sexual assault against children. Two of the drafts were submitted by the Council of Ministers. One provides that in cases where the property intended or used to commit an intentional crime is not owned by the guilty party, its equivalent shall be awarded. The other government bill increases the statute of limitations for crimes against minors and juveniles, with the term starting to run after reaching the age of 18.
The only bill rejected in the Legal Committee is by the PP-DB. In it, confirming a falsehood or concealing the truth before a notary is equated with perjury and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
The agenda also includes ratification of an agreement with Switzerland to support measures in the field of migration.
Following yesterday's failure due to lack of quorum at the meeting of the Energy Committee, which was supposed to discuss the changes to the Renewable Energy Law, a second attempt will be made today to convene it. The adoption of the law is of key importance for the implementation of the fourth payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan in the amount of EUR 437 million.
