Gyurov: This month we are activating measures due to the increase in fuel prices - 1

The caretaker cabinet has already identified specific measures due to the increase in fuel prices in our country. This was stated by the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov to journalists.

„The measures are aimed directly at Bulgarian citizens. They will be credited to their accounts, without the need for them to submit applications, receive vouchers and use such things for election campaigns," said Gyurov.

The criteria are income - up to twice the poverty line, with ownership of a car or lease and paid taxes and fines.

„They will receive 20 euros directly into their accounts in the months in which we see a high price level. This will compensate for the increase, which is in addition to what we have seen in previous weeks,” said Gyurov.

He assured that the measure will be in effect as long as prices remain high and the most vulnerable groups in society feel the pressure.

„Currently, we are seeing an increase that is in the range of 15 to 20% of the levels in previous weeks, before the conflict. So we will activate the measure as soon as possible, within the month”, said Gyurov.

The funds will come from the budget. It is about 20 to 30 million euros.

The Council of Ministers will file an appeal with the Constitutional Court against the parliament's decision on the Peace Council.

“I think there is a very clear, traceable and sustainable practice of the Constitutional Court over time, which shows that this decision of the National Assembly does not comply with the provisions of the Constitution”, said Gyurov.

Regarding the preparation of the early vote, he said that there are already 7 pre-trial proceedings for violations of the electoral rights of citizens.
