A meeting is expected to be held today between President Iliana Yotova and the Commission for the Protection of Competition. It will discuss how the Commission can use its powers to calm markets and prices due to the increase in fuel prices, BNT wrote.
At the end of last week, Yotova said that she expects the government to present a comprehensive package of measures against price increases. On Monday, Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov announced that the cabinet is working on such a package. The government has already announced a program for fuel compensation for the most vulnerable. The assistance will be in the amount of 20 euros per month.
The measure will be activated if the prices of mass fuels in our country remain above 1.60 euros per liter for three consecutive days.
