An urgent task is to structure the Management Board of the State Fund "Agriculture", said the acting Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Atanas Atanasov. According to him, the Management Board is expected to be formed by the end of March, because there are schemes that need to be launched.
He is in Vratsa on the occasion of the information campaign for direct payments, which was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MAF).
Atanasov added that some of the questions that interest agricultural producers are when the compensations will be paid, why the prices of fertilizers have increased. “When there are warehouses of fertilizers, there is no reason for the owners to raise prices unreasonably“, said the acting deputy minister of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Director of the Regional Directorate "Agriculture" Eng. Plamen Kuzmanov attended the meeting, which was also attended by agricultural producers.
For the 2025/2026 economic year, 1,573 farmers were registered in the district. 242,920 is the number of registered animals in the district. Of these, the most are birds - over 200,000, bred in twenty-seven farms. The registered cattle and buffaloes in Vratsa district were 13,151, sheep 18,259, and goats 4,819, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
