According to initial information, on March 25, 2026 at 08:29, a signal was received by the 112 telephone number in the ODS - Stara Zagora from a 53-year-old train driver of a passenger train that he had hit a person on the railway line between the Zmeyovo and Stara Zagora stations.
A police team from the First Regional Police Department was sent to the scene, which determined that the woman died on the spot. Her identity has not been established at this time.
The two train drivers were tested for alcohol use, with negative results. There were 9 passengers on the train who had already left the train.
