We will be the pebble in the shoe of politicians. We will constantly pressure them, as we have been pressuring them so far, only in parliament we will be more effective. From the outside they do not want to hear us, they silence us and do not pay attention to us. If firefighters, pilots and all sorts of other people can run for deputies, why should there not be parents of murdered children. I want there to be justice and save other lives. This was said in the studio of “Crossroads” Nikolay Popov, who is a candidate for deputy from the “Shine” coalition and leader of the lists of 23 and 25 MIR-Sofia.
"We just learned that the court sitting in the case of “Philip”, who was run over on a pedestrian path in Sofia, has not been able to pronounce a verdict for the third year and has recused itself. The cause of the “Siyanie” coalition is not just mine. It is the cause of thousands of Bulgarians - a cause for life and a cause for our future, because there is no greater value than life," said the father of Siyana, who died in the accident.
"The focus will be on justice. There are specific things that we have identified in the justice system. According to politicians and according to what I see in society, for years the figure of the Prosecutor General has always been problematic, so we are ready to convene a Grand National Assembly if necessary and for this figure to be removed in order to relieve the system of this burden. In addition, the big problem in all court cases is the experts," Popov noted.
He specified that the main priority of the coalition is to reduce road casualties. "Therefore, we envisage a large-scale reform - the Ministry of Transport and Communications to become the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Road Safety", said the candidate-MP.
According to him, it is necessary to make a serious reform and restructuring of the Road Safety Agency, as well as all traffic control systems in the RIA. "In this way, we will have a very precise and clearly structured unit that will also be able to control freight transport", Popov also said.
