The mayor of the Targovishte village of Ovcharovo was arrested after a report from citizens, NOVA learned.
According to police data, he handed out sums of 30 and 40 euros to residents of the village to vote for a certain political party in the upcoming elections. During the searches, uniformed officers found nearly 3,620 euros in two homes, as well as several lists of people's names.
As part of the investigation, interrogations are being conducted before a judge. Work on the case continues.
