Krum Zarkov: The Left is Coming – Young People Will Lead the Battle for Justice - 1

„The Left is Coming, it has not passed. By virtue of historical necessity. We saw this in the elections in Western Europe, we will prove this here too.", said the Chairman of the National Assembly of the BSP Krum Zarkov in front of over 200 young people at the National Youth Meeting „A Just Bulgaria is Possible!“ organized by the Youth Union of the BSP in Sofia.

He pointed out that it is no coincidence that young people are captivated by the left-wing idea of justice and freedom: „Because it requires a struggle and rebellion against the current order, and it is by definition right-wing.“.

In his speech, Zarkov called on young people to be dreamers, instead of pragmatists. “Pragmatism in politics means always respecting those in power. Thank you for this pragmatism. We will be an ideological political force and we will not at all pragmatically oppose the government when it does not work for the people.“, he was categorical.

"To be good socialists, you must first be free. Trust me, as I trust you completely.“, Krum Zarkov concluded.

“Justice for me is instead of a small group of privileged people living well while the majority lives badly, to equalize inequalities. The solution is a fair tax reform, so that the rich contribute more, and Bulgarian citizens have equal access to quality education, healthcare, and justice.", said the chairman of the BSP's MO and leader of the BSP-OL list in 23 MIR-Sofia Gabriel Valkov.

The leader in 25 MIR Atanas Atanasov emphasized the role of the state in society: “Crises and wars are raging around us, and the government is inactive. There is talk of the invisible hand of the market. However, this invisible hand very often fills the pockets of a small handful of people.“.

According to him, the leftist values of peace, justice, and solidarity are even more relevant today. “We achieved our first task - we showed that we young people can bear responsibility and not give up in the face of difficult battles. Now we have to complete the second one - to convince as many of our fellow citizens as possible that they need a left-wing party.“, Atanasov was categorical.

The main emphasis in the ensuing discussion was the policies that the BSP proposes, the future of the left in Bulgaria and the role of young people in building sustainable solutions for social justice, economic development and equal opportunities.

With their energy, ideas and active field work, the young socialists expressed their readiness to be among the drivers of the campaign “BSP - UNITED LEFT“ and to reach even more young people with the messages of justice, solidarity and real change.
