The DPS has referred the Court of Auditors to check for incompatibility Deputy Minister of the Interior Ivan Anchev, Delyan Peevski's party reported on its Facebook page. Here is more from the party's statement:
By law, ministers and deputy ministers do not have the right to be members of management or control bodies of commercial companies or NGOs, and have a period of one month to take action to eliminate the incompatibility. Despite this and contrary to the law, Deputy Minister of the Interior Ivan Anchev is a member of the Board of Directors of three NGOs - the “Bulgarian-Albanian Business Chamber”, the “Atlantic Council of Bulgaria” and “Supported Life”.
The deadline within which he should have left the NGOs in order not to contradict the requirements of the law for the position he holds expired on March 19.
The DPS expects the Court of Auditors, in the exercise of its competences, to conduct an inspection and to announce its results in its decision on the case.
