The police in Dupnitsa gave details about the detention of a driver behind the wheel with a record 5.95 per mille of alcohol in his blood. The drug test was also positive - for cocaine.

The 39-year-old man is from Dupnitsa and refused to give a blood sample. He was detained after causing a minor accident on the Struma Highway and leaving the scene, BNT reported.

"The man was visibly intoxicated and was absolutely inadequate. It was even difficult to talk to him. He was tested for alcohol and drug use. The druggist reported 5.85 per mille of alcohol, which is an absolute record, the drug test was positive for cocaine. In the ambulance he refused to give blood tests. He was detained for 24 hours, at a later stage a measure of "detention in custody" was taken. for 72 tables.
The penalty is 200 leva for a traffic accident, 200 leva for leaving a traffic accident, and the court will determine the amount for alcohol and drugs," explained the police in Dupnitsa.

If found guilty, the law provides for imprisonment from 1 to 3 years, revocation of the license for the same period, confiscation of the vehicle in favor of the state and a fine from 500 to 2600 euros.

The Ministry of Interior report shows that since 2004, the driver has been sanctioned 21 times for various road violations.

His license has been revoked four times for drunk driving and refusal to be tested - for 3 months, for 2 months, for 12 months, for 2 years.
