"The motives of those who are silent on the "Rusinova" case are different. Their concerns, fears - and I would even say nightmares, are also different. This will become clear in the near future. There is no way - the process has already started. And no matter how silent they are, there is no way that nothing can be done to understand the truth".
This was stated in "Hello, Bulgaria" on "Nova TV" by the journalist and director of the Anti-Corruption Fund in Bulgaria, Boyko Stankushev. He commented on the information presented by Interior Minister Emil Dechev a few days ago that, according to the Ministry of Interior, in 2021, Sofia City Prosecutor Emilia Rusinova and Petyo Petrov - Euroto together crossed our border with the Republic of North Macedonia through the Zlatarevo border crossing in one car.
He pointed out that for more than six years now we have been witnessing a series of "sweepings" on this case: "But at the same time, people are learning more and more. New information is emerging, including data from the borders - who, when and with whom he traveled".
According to him, the most important thing is in the causal chain for the promotion and rapid career development of corrupt magistrates - who does it and why? "Obviously, this is being done in order to have some secure tools for managing many processes. And lately, it seems that all processes in Bulgaria are being managed, including political ones. Not only because of the huge amounts of stolen money that can influence elections, but also because dependent people are created. This way, the mafia network becomes bigger, stronger and more difficult to investigate", Stankushev is categorical.
And he added: "The most important thing is why Emilia Rusinova has been an unavoidable factor for so many years and why does no one hold her accountable? Why, after she removed prosecutor Ivaylo Zanev (editor's note, who led the investigation into “Hemusgate“) with a 400-page report and nine defendants with specific names, was everything swept away?".
According to him, this is not "just an umbrella, but even more scary". "For example, in “Hemus“ - we are talking about 54 million leva in Lots 5 and 6, which are being carried in bags. It is not known where they come from, who ordered it and how the money was distributed", Stankushev recalled.
When asked by Rusinova - by stopping certain investigations, whether she guarantees career development, or vice versa - "developing it" in order to do this, he emphasized: "Both hypotheses exist. Some are hired to do work for huge sums and career growth. Others are placed in such a dependence that they have no choice".
And he explained that "this is the so-called "deep state" - a group of influential politicians from different parties who coordinate their actions". "These people "set up" magistrates to clear the way for them for ever greater abuses. We are talking about brutal embezzlement of state funds. For example "Chiren" - a case in which Rusinova is a key figure in stopping an investigation. Because she stops Teodora Georgieva after she states that there are serious violations worth hundreds of millions," he pointed out.
