The Mayor of Ardino Municipality Izet Shaban declared a state of emergency on the territory of several settlements due to heavy rainfall. The measure comes into effect from 15:30 on April 2 and covers the villages of Rusalsko, Lyubino, Latinka, Avramovo, Pesnopoy and Spoluka.
As a result of the significantly increased water level of the Arda River, a reinforced concrete bridge on the republican road network in the area of the village of Kitnitsa has been flooded. The facility is the only transport link for residents of the six affected settlements.
A ban on the movement and stay of motor vehicles in the designated critical sections has been introduced until the emergency situation is brought under control, the water level drops and conditions for safe passage on the bridge are ensured.
