A 51-year-old woman was injured after an accident on the Trakia Motorway (AM) and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. This was reported by the press center of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Stara Zagora.
The accident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. yesterday at kilometer 167 of the highway. According to initial information, a passenger car traveling in the direction of Burgas, driven by a 68-year-old man, left the roadway to the right in its direction of travel and crashed into a truck parked at a gas station, owned by a 33-year-old woman. The truck was carrying a 33-year-old woman and passengers - a 34-year-old man and a baby (boy).
The driver who caused the accident, who was hospitalized without life-threatening injuries, as well as a 51-year-old woman traveling in his car, who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, were injured. The driver of the parked car and its passengers were examined in hospital and released without life-threatening injuries, the press center said.
The driver who left the roadway was tested for alcohol and narcotics, with negative results. An investigation has been opened in the Chirpan District Office under the supervision of the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office.
