Over 500 kilograms of dairy products transported in violation of food safety requirements, as well as an unregulated food warehouse, were found during inspections in the town of Lyubimets. The report was filed by the Directorate of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Republic of Bulgaria - Haskovo.
In the unregistered warehouse, inspectors found olive oil, lentils and rice that were past their expiration date. The operator will be issued an administrative violation notice.
A cargo van that was in front of the warehouse was also checked. Cheese, yellow cheese and butter with a total quantity of 513 kilograms were found in it. It was found that the products were transported at a temperature higher than required. The vehicle is not registered under the Food Act and does not have an appropriate cooling system to carry out such an activity.
The dairy products will be destroyed. The driver will be issued a ticket.
