The Central Election Commission approved the requests of the 9 parliamentary formations for replacement of already appointed members of the SIC abroad and the proposal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for filling the vacant positions.

Chairwoman of the CEC Kamelia Neykova added:

"Persons who wish to be released as members of section election commissions for various reasons have also submitted the relevant application electronically. And all applications submitted by individuals requesting to be released should be attached to the proposal of the respective party or coalition," Neykova pointed out, after the CEC ordered that for the upcoming elections, replacements in appointed CECs are made only after a personally signed application, and not solely upon a proposal by the formations that nominated them.

The CEC has sent a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a request to notify our compatriots abroad to check where they are listed on the electoral lists.

The secretary of the commission, Sevinch Solakova, argued after another inquiry to the CEC related to the lists of the opened polling stations by location:

"And let us indicate that all Bulgarian citizens who have submitted an application to vote abroad and the application has been approved should be informed, to check the voting lists - especially in those countries where they have been added to the lists for voting the names of those voters who have applied for places where there are no polling stations opened due to the restriction in the Electoral Code".

The installation of voting machines in the country by the company "Siela Norma" begins this week according to the approved schedule.

Experts from the state administration will control the process in the warehouse where the devices are stored and will be prepared for the elections this Sunday.

9354 polling stations in the country will have one machine.

Abroad, there will be machines in 130 polling stations in 18 countries, they will also be one per polling station. Germany will have the most machines - 35, Great Britain - 20, Turkey - 21, and the United States - 9.
