There is also a change of Electoral Commission members in Burgas, where the first voting machines have already been distributed to the polling stations, BNT reports.

A total of 599 devices arrived from Sofia late last night and were unloaded into a warehouse under police guard and video surveillance. As of this morning, their distribution to the stations, where voters will be able to exercise their right to vote on Sunday, began.

The Burgas Regional Election Commission is constantly having to update the lists, as members resign daily. Old leaders and members of the SICs are being dismissed and new ones are being appointed.

Plamena Apostolova, member of the RIC-Burgas: “There is no requirement to give us a specific reason. The Electoral Code states that anyone can resign. The sectional election commissions consist of 9 people, which to some extent gives us peace of mind that even if one or two drop out, there will be a quorum so that the sectional election commissions can work normally.”

At the same time, under extremely enhanced security measures, this morning the trucks with 599 machines for the Second Multi-Mandate Electoral District - Burgas were opened and unsealed. At the moment, the devices are still being transported to the polling stations. The machines are distributed along 19 rays - pre-determined routes, and are moving under the protection of police teams. Later in the afternoon, the devices will be accepted by the members of each section commission along with the sealed ballot papers. After that, the machines will be installed, and they will remain under constant police guard until tomorrow's election day.

Petko Kalev, representative of “Siela Norma” and responsible for the machines: “We bring the machines in to check them, prepare them and, accordingly, load them in order to transport them along the beams. Each machine has a specific code. This code is compared and checked with the list. The moment we verify that things are in order, we load the machines into the appropriate vehicle. Depending on the volume of the machines, whether it will be a bus or a truck.”

Commissioner Marin Dimitrov, head of “Security Police” - Burgas: “The total number of employees who will participate in the security of the elections is over 1100. Tonight and tomorrow we will have a permanent police guard and video recording of the section election commissions. We have signals, we are processing them, we are taking action against them, so we will not underestimate a single signal that is related to crimes related to the electoral rights of citizens.”

By the end of the day, all 599 machines must be delivered and installed in the polling stations to be ready for tomorrow's election day.
