Rumen Radev expressed his gratitude to Bulgarian citizens and to the people from his team early Monday morning, after the interim results showed that his project “Progressive Bulgaria“ (PB) will be the clear winner of the parliamentary elections.
As of 8 a.m. on April 20, with 68.34% of the SIC protocols processed in the REC, the current picture shows that PB has 44.48%.
“I thank each and every one of the Bulgarian citizens who supported “Progressive Bulgaria“. Special thanks to the people who have been with me for almost 10 years and to my entire team. I would like to sincerely thank all citizens who realized their responsibility and voted conscientiously, regardless of who they voted for. I also thank all our compatriots abroad who waited in line for hours and showed that they care about Bulgaria. I thank the people in the commissions and services who organized these elections and especially the Ministry of Interior bodies who made enormous efforts in the fight against the shameful phenomenon of "vote buying" for Bulgaria, Radev wrote on Facebook.
In his words, through the high voter turnout, people have overcome apathy, but distrust in Bulgarian politics is still great.
“Progressive Bulgaria“ wins unequivocally. This is a victory of hope over distrust, of freedom over fear. Finally, this is a victory of morality. People have rejected the complacency and arrogance of the old parties. They did not succumb to the lies and manipulations,“ he also wrote.
The PB leader specifies that he will comment further once the final results are clear.
