The MRF press center distributed an official position of the party leader Delyan Peevski regarding the results of the early parliamentary elections, which were held on Sunday. In his statement, he analyzed the new political reality after the vote and categorically stated that the Movement for Rights and Freedoms remains steadfast in protecting its voters and the country's Euro-Atlantic orientation.

In his position, the chairman of the MRF emphasized the categorical choice of Bulgarian citizens, who have recognized the new alternative after a long period of instability.

"After years of political timelessness, a large part of Bulgarian voters with a respectable result gave their trust to a political leader - Rumen Radev, for which he should be congratulated", stated Delyan Peevski, quoted by the party press center.

We recall that according to the data from the vote on April 19, the new formation "Progressive Bulgaria", headed by the resigned President Rumen Radev, won the elections for the 52nd National Assembly with over 44% support, attracting the votes of more than 1.3 million Bulgarians. According to the leader of the MRF, this is a clear mandate for the formation of the future cabinet.

"This is their decision on who will bear the responsibility, having a stable and categorical majority, which must take over the governance of the state, to lead Bulgaria through the severe crisis and the trials that are occurring due to the complicated international situation and the impact of the crisis on the life and existence of Bulgarian citizens," he added.

Against the backdrop of the record voter turnout of about 50% in recent years and the serious reshuffle in parliament, where the MRF is positioned as the fourth political force with over 230 thousand votes, Peevski recognizes the resilience of the party electorate.

"For the MRF, the election result is a clear sign that our voters did not succumb to the unprecedented pressure, once again entrusted us with the responsibility for their future and obliged us to continue to defend our cause - the people and their better and more qualitative life", the statement reads. Peevski emphasizes that the Movement has never divided people by ethnicity, faith or place of residence.

Within the new parliament, the MRF will continue to advocate policies in the social sphere, agriculture and regional development. The party leader concludes with a categorical statement about the country's geopolitical course: "For us, the European identity and the Euro-Atlantic affiliation of our country are an irrevocable and unalternative path, from which Bulgaria must not deviate and must not be allowed to be swayed by this value choice".
