Parents report children being beaten, locked up and bullied in kindergarten - 1

Parents have filed a report that children are being beaten, locked up and bullied in kindergarten with the Child Protection Agency and the Prosecutor's Office. The case is from the Pavlikeni village of Stambolovo. The charges are against the director of the school, Nova TV reports.

„A few months ago, my little son, who is in the first age group, started crying every morning. I didn't pay attention to the fact that he couldn't explain to me that he was seeing mental and physical bullying in the kindergarten. After my children came home from kindergarten on April 2, my little son complained that he had been punished and that his stomach hurt. Then my daughter, who attends the same kindergarten, explained to me that he had been punished behind the door and pinned down with an iron table. He had been sitting punished like this for a long time, for hours. They made his brother sit on the opposite table. She cried because she couldn't help her brother, and he cried because his stomach hurt. After he came home, there were two lines on his stomach, marked by the table," says the mother who filed the report.

“While talking to a mother whose child is in kindergarten, her child suddenly started telling her that he had witnessed the principal slapping several of the children who were sick. After this information, I stopped sending my children to kindergarten because I was scared," she explains. “The complaint has so far only been investigated by Veliko Tarnovo. "We have no information from the mayor of Pavlikeni municipality about how things are developing," the mother added.

Another mother claims that she has a child locked in the basement, and most children are threatened with the police if they don't fall asleep faster.

„My child got up to play, the principal pushed him, and he fell on the floor on his hand. He complained and didn't want to go to kindergarten. She slapped him because he was playing and jumping," says another parent.

The principal of the kindergarten, Silvia Krushevska, categorically denies on her behalf and on behalf of the kindergarten staff the allegations of violence against the children mentioned in the complaint, namely that they were beaten, hit, locked, squeezed and punished.

„This is the first time such a complaint has been filed against us. The report was filed only by the parents of one child. On Monday we will initiate a parents' meeting to talk to them”, said Krushevska.

The parents are demanding a change and the resignation of the principal. They state that they will not allow their children to be subjected to mental and physical abuse.
