The government's program contains the word "digitalization" many times, noted on "Facebook" the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bozhanov. He noted that the planned pace is slow:
1. A European digital identity wallet will not be available until 2029. The deadline according to the regulation is by the end of this year.
2. A national legal framework for artificial intelligence is planned for December 2027. The EU regulation is already being implemented and we have no right to delay for another year and a half.
3. The digitalization of building permits (investment design and spatial planning) is also planned for December 2029. We introduced the law in 2024, then in 2025. It was not time. Apparently, the MRDPW has been at a complete standstill for the last 2 years.
4. There is no digitalization of the car registration process at all. We will be waiting in line at the traffic police for many years to come.
5. There is also no new civil registration system that meets modern requirements and that would electronically register all primary documents.
With legislative initiatives, we will try to accelerate these reforms. The unambitious program can be corrected by an active opposition, in the name of achieving results for Bulgarian citizens and businesses.
