Every day that this war continues is disastrous for Ukraine, Russia and all of us. This inevitably affects all elections - in Europe, in the USA, and everywhere in the world. We will choose in this and the next election between war and peace. Every citizen of ours is obliged to be aware of this. This is what President Rumen Radev said to journalists in Yambol, when asked what sign the assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is for Europe, quoted by BTA.
The attempted assassination of a European prime minister by a radicalized fanatic, because of his support for peace, is indicative of this inculcated intolerance of foreign opinion and hatred. Therefore, many politicians, parties and media contributed with their presentation of every different voice as pro-Russian, which is extremely unfair and leads to all these negative consequences, Radev also pointed out.
"It is extremely dangerous for the passions between Russia and Ukraine to flare up in Europe as well, and for the voices for peace to be met with shots. I have warned for a long time that this war will grow, but it is unacceptable in European societies to instill intolerance of foreign voices and hatred. It is unacceptable to present the continuation of the war and the impossible victory over Russia as the only possible solution," Radev added.
"All bloodshed begins with militaristic appeals that have no place in Europe. Any attempt to bring the passions of war and violence here does not lead to anything good, and such actions must be held accountable. If this war does not end, Ukraine will be demographically devastated, with completely destroyed infrastructure, industry. This will have extremely serious consequences not only for Ukraine, but also for Europe," he added.
He called for a voice of reason and for diplomatic efforts for peace, not "a continuous pouring of arms".
With weapons and without weapons, we are going to a similar outcome and we must realize - the difference will be thousands of human victims and a devastated country, for which we will have to pay later, this is inevitable, added the head of state.
p>In Yambol, Rumen Radev congratulated the participants in the "Presidential Test", part of the "Sports with the President" initiative, and opened a national morning gymnastics festival in the linear park "Tundja", which is organized for the third year in a row by the Municipality Yambol.
