The Cabinet “Glavchev” will provide nearly BGN 9.3 million under the program for humanitarian assistance to displaced persons from Ukraine. The announcement came from the government press center after today's government meeting. The money is for providing temporary protection for Ukrainians in the Republic of Bulgaria. Payments have been verified for the period from 01 November 2023 to 29 February 2024 for 472 approved applications of interested parties.
The exact amount of the payments is BGN 9,275,665.80 including VAT.
"With the correction of the obvious factual error in the previous list approved for payment, the correct spelling of the recipient of the payment for the aid provided to displaced persons from Ukraine has been corrected and introduced,'' the decision of the Council of Ministers reads.
Just a week ago, dissatisfied hoteliers from Sunny Beach went out in protest.
Some of the dissatisfied hoteliers recalled that they were to receive 2-3 million BGN each and were in danger of bankruptcy.
They point out that there have been delays in disbursement of funds since the program started.
