The statement notes that on June 22, when Orthodox Christians make a prayer call for their deceased loved ones and pray for the repose of their souls, for another year in Sofia – the city of God's wisdom, the so-called Sofia Pride. On the day we remember our dead, we will once again witness a public display of sin and its acceptance as a way of life, the statement said.

It is indicated that more than once the Holy Church has said that modern society, torn from its Christian roots, replaces the understanding of basic values such as love and freedom.

Therefore, treating everyone with pastoral care, responsibility and paternal love – we oppose attempts to impose sin as a norm and value in Bulgarian society, says the statement published on the website of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
