“I think that Atanas Atanasov should not ask the President, but the Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov about the security of Boyko Borisov. "Whether and which political leaders received security during the assembly, what does this security require?" said lawyer Ivan Demerdzhiev, former acting minister of justice and former acting minister of the interior, in the bTV studio.
„In two days, two women died in the conditions of domestic violence. There wasn't a single policeman there. Against this backdrop, political leaders are beefing up their security. The Minister of the Interior owes the answers. Strange that they didn't ask him for so many months. This security is not from today“, he commented.
„There must be actual evidence of a threat to a political leader to require such protection. By order of the director of the main directorate, after verification by the services, security guards are appointed. In other cases, it is appointed after the decision of a commission, in which the heads of the National Security Service, the National Security Service and the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participate, Demerdzhiev pointed out.
„The problem of democracy and statehood is when political leaders are guarded, and people do not have a sense of security and justice. Everyone worries daily about the life and health of their loved ones in small settlements. When leaders are concerned only with themselves, it is a problem of statehood”, the former acting minister of justice is emphatic.

„I hope that the investigation of how Brendo entered Bulgaria will be completed. Apparently there is no will to check these cases. Declarations about how tight border control is, do not correspond to reality. We have not witnessed such shocking cases before”, Ivan Demerdzhiev also said.
„ Let the Ministry of the Interior answer - how, if there are no migrants, does the prosecutor's office report an increase in the number of pre-trial proceedings for illegal migration? How do they catch those migrants who do not penetrate into Bulgaria and record low attempts to enter? How do more people get in? That needs to be answered. The other is demagoguery”, commented Demerdzhiev.
„Brendo is a person who cannot freely cross the border and voluntarily appear with his lawyer in front of the Central Prison. I long to see someone from the Ministry of Internal Affairs who will take responsibility”, he added.

„The role of the Ministry of the Interior is very serious in the conduct of the elections, in order to counter electoral crimes. The last elections held had two significant problems – one has no connection with the work of the Ministry of the Interior. This is low activity. We have seen turnout explode in small and isolated areas. It is not mandatory for the Ministry of the Interior to stop people from voting, but the minister had to stop people who in a special way motivate other people to go and vote“
„It is inexplicable against the background of record low voter turnout, how DPS increased its results by 8 thousand votes in Kardzhali, by almost 7 thousand votes in Blagoevgrad. In the city itself, there are 20 votes in each section for DPS, and in individual municipalities such as Belitsa, the activity is very high. In a section with 75 voters, 74 votes were cast. There are five invalid votes and the other 69 votes are for DPS. In the village of Babek, out of 564 voters, 507 voted. Of them, 498 people voted for DPS“.
„In the Plovdiv district „Stolipinovo” there is a sharp increase in activity in individual sections. There, GERD raises its result several times. In these sections, as a rule, voting is done by paper ballot. We did not even hear about the Ministry of Internal Affairs for actions during the partial elections in Haskovo. The Ministry of Internal Affairs categorically did not do its job”, said the former Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.
According to him, even before the elections, potential vote buyers are identified.
„These people are being persecuted and countered. When that's done, turnout in the at-risk section is 11%. When this is not done, the activity is 50%, and somewhere 100%. It is interesting how until now only 11% was the turnout in a certain section, but in the last elections it was 100%. "Such behavior is inexplicable," Ivan Demerdzhiev also said.
