I have never, NEVER, directly or indirectly, on the phone or in person, spoken to Ahmed Dogan. Hristo Ivanov stated this to the media.
"I have talked with Mr. Peevski about the need for structural reform in the judiciary. I have no problem having this conversation with you or anyone else", he also commented, ironically stating that he did not expect to be asked the question why he was against Peevski, when until recently he was "in his lap" ;.
When asked if Ahmed Dogan is his family friend, Ivanov repeated: "I have never had contact with him!".
According to him, a process is currently underway that leads to the reduction of Delyan Peevski's influence on Bulgarian politics. And it must be used. Ivanov explained that the removal of Delyan Peevski by itself will not solve the overall problem of abuse of power in Bulgaria. But it's a good start. "The conversation about how to eliminate this model in the long term is another," he clarified.
When asked how the vicious model of abuse of power in the country will be eradicated if it is rooted in "Multigroup" and further back in time, Ivanov answered this way: "I don't expect the roots to be removed, I don't even expect the stem to be removed either. But the current poisonous fruits and seeds that can further reproduce a pattern can now be shelled, removing Delyan Peevski's influence. It won't finish the job, but it will start it".
