Senegal President Basirou Diomaye Faye dissolved the country's opposition-controlled parliament yesterday, clearing the way for early elections parliamentary elections, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA, referring to an evening address made by him.
The agency notes that this will also allow the Senegalese government to roll out its policies until the end of Faye's 5-year term.
The President of Senegal is also expected to take far-reaching measures against corruption, according to "Radio France International".
In his evening address, President Faye, who took office in April, also announced that early parliamentary elections in Senegal will be held on November 17.
