„Few expected Donald Trump's victory to it's so overwhelming. It is a spectacular victory from the point of view of political science and sociology, commented in the program "Face to face" Elena Poptodorova, vice president of the Atlantic Club and former ambassador of Bulgaria to the USA.
„Obviously, this is a powerful wave that Trump was able to cause. We are already talking about changing the Republican Party itself. This is no longer the party of Lincoln or Reagan, but of Trump with his style and his view of the world," commented Poptodorova.
„With a nation already living in anxiety and uncertainty about its own future, and this anxiety was deliberately reinforced throughout the campaign by Donald Trump, this surge of votes in his favor is quite understandable,' opined the former our ambassador to the USA.
According to her, it turns out that half of the young people who vote for the first time voted for him.
„Kamala Harris failed to fill in the foreign policy and security questions. The United States is currently electing a commander-in-chief of its armed forces. This seems to have fallen out of the more complex image of the candidates for the future president”, believes Elena Poptodorova.
She asked rhetorically if America was even ready for a female president.
„Democrats were unlucky with this campaign. It was difficult, not to say wrong in tactics and strategy. Kamala Harris had to prove she was different from Biden because that was the question mark. "She failed to present herself as something very different," commented the vice-president of the Atlantic Club.
