At the moment, Boyko Borisov is not in a position to dictate the rules of the game. PP-DB were in the same situation when the assembly collapsed and they begged Borisov not to let this happen, because they will lose a lot in the next elections.
This was stated in the program "Denyat live" on Nova News, political scientist Svetlin Tachev, quoted by novini.bg. Tachev commented on today's briefing by Boyko Borisov, at which he announced that he will not be a candidate for prime minister and GERB will return the first mandate.
"The situation is deadlocked. PP-DB are firm in their demands, and Borisov is making attempts to break through the blockade. Today, Borisov still left a loophole for negotiations because he suggested that the PP-DB should propose the equidistant prime minister. Borisov took a step back and told the PP-DB - do the same. I am not optimistic that the chairman of the National Assembly will be elected tomorrow. The battle for this election has turned into a battle for who will enter the president's home book and be a candidate for caretaker prime minister. This also contributes to the stalemate," he added.
"For me, the political parties have already started looking towards new elections. We have reached such a crisis of the political system and parliamentarism that we are looking for loopholes on the edge of the law so that the parliament can start working. The Bulgarian wants a government because he is worn out. New early elections will lead to an even greater deterioration of the situation, from which the political forces will inevitably suffer. They can no longer communicate normally. The parties have no political ideas, because they too are worn out. This leads to party erosion, divisions, splits. Political formations have been emptied of content", Svetlin Tachev was categorical.
