Pargov: Until the BSP does not put its house in order, it would be risky to participate in the management of the state - 1

My candidacy for the chairman of the BSP comes from the self-confidence that gives me everything that I have gone through in the last 10 years, especially – and internal party battles, and in the public space battles, and electoral, and other causes that, together with my comrades and like-minded people, we have managed to defend, several of them and win. In the last 20 years, I have gained both managerial and party experience, I know the party and in the last few years I have been able to tour it far and wide. This is what he said in the program "Metronome" on Radio "Focus" Kaloyan Pargov – member of the National Council of BSP.

"Here, the conversation should be about ideas, about visions for the future between the various candidates for party chairman: what is better for the BSP, how the BSP can become that viable, fighting party again, the BSP can be talked about as for the Party, even if it is in opposition – as the Opposition, as was talked about until an unknown time ago, and not as one of many parties, and small parties at that," he said, as for him the person at the head plays an important unifying function for a party, but the party must be united by the general ideas and desire to overcome the crisis in which the BSP finds itself.

In his words, the problems in the BSP are a legacy of the past and their solution lies in organizational, ideological and personnel renewal, according to the realities of the time, the geopolitical changes and the changes in society that have occurred. "Communication inside and outside the party is something that is key, as we see that the lack of a good communication strategy leads to misunderstanding, especially in the last two or three weeks, about what the BSP is doing in the National Assembly."

The 50th anniversary Congress of the BSP goes down in history due to various missed moments and internal party casuistry. The 51st Congress is coming, which is currently being constructed, Kaloyan Pargov pointed out and added that its composition will become clear by the end of this year. The party functionary also explained that the chairman of the party by statute is elected by direct election, although in recent months voices have been heard for the return of the congressional beginning in the election of the chairman. "It is good to have both options in the future new constitution, whether to be elected directly or by congress, usually it was decided by the National Council, but I think that in this case it should be decided by the people and we should give them the opportunity, they to determine the type of selection."

"I wish that this election in the BSP would be decided not by the clash of technologies, but more by the clash of ideas and platforms of the Bulgarian candidates, however many they may be. I accept all candidates, and they are not few, as worthy, as people who, after receiving nominations and support, have the right to appear in this competition according to the rules," explained Pargov. For him, candidates have to answer two sets of questions: the first set of questions is about the party, the second set of questions is about the state, since the main function of each party is to impose by winning elections, by a certain political influence, its programs and ideas for the development of the state.

Kaloyan Pargov is adamant that until the BSP does not put its house in order, it would be risky to participate in the management of the state. "Government should not be self-serving. Because the "assembly" proved that even if you had the purest and most moral motives, this moral compromise did not lead to a resolution, but rather to a deepening of the crisis, and on top of that, with these constitutional changes that further deepened it and the crisis became political-constitutional. My concern is that the BSP will not give in to blackmail and return the gesture by electing the speaker of the National Assembly by accepting participation in a discrediting coalition."
