Kiril Petkov: GERB should say that they renounce the Peevski model so that we can have normal conversations - 1

We had a constructive conversation with colleagues in the parliamentary group. Tomorrow we are going to the president together for the consultations. On the topic of negotiations with GERB – we have a national council tonight, you will see a precise and clear position of "Continuing the change". With "Democratic Bulgaria" we share a common vision of what Bulgaria should look like. Now we have differences in approach, but the coalition is going together. The overall end goal is one. This evening we will inform you with the exact position of the PP on the topic of government negotiations. This was stated by the co-chairman of “We continue the change” Kiril Petkov in front of journalists.

„The sanitary cordon is not just a declaration – this is an answer to the question, are we ready to close our eyes to the Peevski model, which is the corruption model in Bulgaria in all sectors. No, we are not ready for that“, he commented.

„We have not held talks with “Revival” for an official office, we will not have such conversations. We will never be in government with them, not because of anything else, but because we have value differences with this party. The claim that “Revival“ can be our coalition partner, is a pure sample of false support with one idea – to enter justification mode. We have pro-European values, we believe that our place is in the EU and NATO, and the PP will never deviate from these views based on any tactical advantages. "We don't trade our values," Petkov assured.

He emphasized that there were no talks about Boyko Rashkov being acting prime minister.

„The ultimate version of a government in which Boyko Borisov has not renounced his dependence on Peevski will not happen. Well, people from GERB, why are you putting the whole country on the line because you are afraid to say clearly that you reject the Peevski model? Say you won't govern with this corrupt model so we can have normal conversations. It's simple, he explained.
