There has been no such miracle. This budget is absurd both in terms of expectations in the revenue part, but also in terms of expectations towards taxpayers. And the middle class means a huge increase in the tax burden that should not be accepted. Wage costs will rise by 23%, absolutely unjustified. Instead of raising money in expenses, an immediate revision is needed. Economist Georgi Vuldjev from EKIP said this on BNT.
Vuldjev is of the opinion that the state is desperately looking for ways to raise funds. “The idea of the tax amnesty is to shine a light on the gray sector, but it signals that taxpayers who have hidden income will later receive amnesty for doing so – this is a bad signal for business.”
Assoc. Valeri Apostolov from KT “Support” believes: “We all have high expectations for the caretaker government's budget. Policies, measures and reforms are lacking in the three budgets. The problems for us, the unions – for NHIFs, we did not see any policies aimed at improving the lack of qualified staff. We saw high drug prices, a strong concentration of health services in large settlements.”
According to Assoc. Apostolov, there are no policies in the budget of DOO to fight poverty and social exclusion.
„We did not support all three budgets. The state budget is unbalanced in terms of revenue sources and excessive spending. Until 2019 budgets were made the same way – by indexing the income and expenses with the percentage of information, usually the income was understated. After 2020 revenues are overestimated in order to finance greater expenses,” emphasized Dobrin Ivanov from AIKB.
