Since last Christmas, the prices of goods in the consumer basket have risen by 2%. This was stated in the studio of “Sabû se” on NOVA by the chairman of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets, Vladimir Ivanov.
He emphasized that it includes basic food products. “We are not talking about coffee and cocoa, because their price increase is at a global level, first because of the insurmountable droughts, and now - because of the insurmountable floods”, explained Ivanov.
“The champion in price increase is cabbage. Since last year, its price has jumped by 53%”, pointed out the chairman of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets. He also highlighted tomatoes as products that have increased in price by 21 percent since last year.
Cucumbers and citrus fruits, with the exception of lemons, are at 2023 levels. Pork and chicken prices have also remained stable. Oil has become more expensive due to the poor harvest. It has increased in price by 13% compared to 2023.
