How to get in shape in our country, what we overeat in Bulgaria, how to lose weight before and after the holidays around the new year - the advice of the nutrition and dietetics specialist - Prof. Donka Baykova.
She shares that even she has had the chance to overeat during the holidays. "It is reasonable to consume one main dish, and 1-2 bites of the others... this is how the tradition is observed. Then a light unloading. We need three days to recover from the big overeating during the holidays. The gradual approach is correct, not the stressful one. We can overcome the usual intake of animal foods around the holidays with a range of slightly lighter dishes in the following days. This means excluding fatty red meats, colorful sausages, sausages, sauerkraut, and kapama. Appetite determines needs," she explained to NOVA.
In her words, the body can determine the demand. "Dairy products, fish, eggs with vegetables, this should make up our unloading menu - from two to three days to a week after the holidays. A feeling of heaviness is established within 20 minutes after overeating. With awareness and reminders, the condition can be overcome. Pickled vegetables are useful because they are rich in Vitamin C, also because of the lactic acid bacteria and carbohydrates. Juice is also useful, but one must be careful about an overdose of salt," the nutritionist revealed.
Prof. Baykova shared that there is a belief that a chocolate candy before a meal can suppress the feeling of a large amount of food, but according to her, protein foods do this job more often.
