Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev commented to the media on the unadopted budget for 2025. He said that he hopes that the deputies will adopt the state's budget plan by their Easter vacation, Nova TV reports.
„We fulfilled our obligation under the Public Finance Act, we submitted a budget, from then on they have at least three options - to reshape it, accept or reject it. We saw that this did not happen. I hope that by their next vacation – which is on Easter, they will adopt it. On the last day of last year, we introduced a special law to regulate the collection of revenues and the spending of expenses. That is, we made it possible to receive the income that was planned,” he told journalists on the occasion of Epiphany.
Glavchev expressed hope that there will still be a regular cabinet and that new elections will not be held. “The procedure for handing over mandates has not yet begun. It is too early to talk about elections”, the Prime Minister explained.
We recall that on December 22, the deputies officially went on Christmas vacation. A check on the parliament's website shows that the 2025 budget plan will be discussed at a meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finance on January 7. The agenda also includes changes to tax laws, as well as a hearing of the acting Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova.
