First reactions in the parliament to the emerging regular government. The participants in it are refraining from further comments for now, while the others have already started criticizing. The session of the National Assembly was interrupted several times for meetings between the formations that support the draft cabinet. They were held in the wings of the parliament, where the media do not have access, Nova TV reports.
Candidate Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov confirmed that an annex to the governance agreement has already been signed. It unofficially regulates the support of “Democracy, Rights and Freedoms” – MRF around Ahmed Dogan, who announced last night that they will stand behind the cabinet of GERB-SDF, “BSP – United Left” and “There is such a people”. “Political talks are always conducted around goals, policies, principles and programs. Everyone made compromises from their ideological, political and personal understandings in order to have a parliamentary majority. Support will be formalized with the vote. We have a signed agreement between GERB-SDF, ITN and “BSP-United Left”. Within the framework of the parliamentary majority, we will rely on the support of “Democracy, Rights and Freedoms” - MRF. We decided that we will not be the lightning rod through which the tension, conflict and division in MRF flow. That is why we received and accepted support from Dogan's people and we rely on them in the plenary hall. There is no distribution of posts on a quota or other principle. We shared the understandings of the BSP and the ITN, who had signed a "sanitary cordon", commented after accepting and returning the completed mandate of President Zhelyazkov.
For now, it is clear that "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms" - MRF will have two representatives in the joint management council that is being created.
However, the first criticisms of the draft cabinet composition have already arrived. They are from "Continuing Change - Democratic Bulgaria", which described the ministerial composition as scandalous. "We were not isolated from the negotiations, but we had requirements that we had set quite clearly. Maybe someone did not like what we wanted in terms of judicial reforms and in terms of isolating Peevski from the judiciary and from the institutions in the country", said Ivaylo Mirchev. “The composition is scandalous to say the least - highly political figures, some of them have no competence in these roles, but it is clear that the main goal was for everyone to settle for a position from each of the supporting parties”, added Lena Borislavova.
When asked if they were ready to be an opposition, “DPS – Novo nachlas” replied that they already were.
